Yakisoba: the Japanese Fried Noodle

Have you ever tried yakisoba? At I Love Sushi’s Seattle restaurant, you can try this well-loved dish in the form of either our veggie yakisoba or our seafood yakisoba. It is a dish of fried noodles, derived to the more well-known Chinese chow mein and adapted to accommodate Japanese tastes. In Japan, the dish is enjoyed mostly at festivals, and is a big hit among foreigners as well.

As the word “yakisoba” resembles the name of another Japanese noodle dish, “soba”, many make the mistake of assuming that the two are related. However, yakisoba and soba are very dissimilar. Yakisoba is traditionally served warm and, though it contains the word “soba”, it is not made from buckwheat in the way that soba is. However, it remains a hearty and delicious treat, so come on down for a plate today at I Love Sushi!
